The Story Behind Discovery 55
The inspiration for Discovery 55 began a few years ago, when founder Jonathan Elias was in high school. Every week, he would drive his great uncle to and from doctor appointments. Jonathan and "Uncle" as he was known as, cherished their time together. Uncle got to and from his doctor appointments with comfort, but what was more important was the journey to and from these appointments with his nephew. They would discuss everything from the Toronto Blue Jays, to the latest news, to the newest and hippest fashions, which Uncle was not too fond of, and to Uncle's childhood back west in cold Saskatchewan.
Jonathan learned so much from Uncle, and it was that inspiration that led the way to form Discovery 55. For the next few years, Jonathan began doing jobs here and there for seniors in the Toronto community. Everything from computer teaching, fitness training, household chores, maintenance, and so forth. Jonathan noticed that the baby boomers were reaching retirement, and there was a growing demand for services.
Jonathan finished his undergraduate degree in 2007, and from that moment on, he was hooked with the concept of offering valuable services for the 55+ adult population in Toronto and the GTA . Today, Jonathan keeps busy working directly with clients, specifically in the area of computer teaching. Other staff are available who possess desireable qualities.
At Discovery 55, we promise to treat clients like family. We look forward to working with you or your loved one in the near future. Our motto is that retirement, and life in general, be exciting and enjoyable!
Respect, Honesty, Sensitivity, Patience, Warmth and Reliability are qualities that are at the core of our standards!
